Sevens should be in the olympics as it is a great social occasion, as shown in the london leg of the IRB sevens, also combines all of the skills associated with being an olympic competetor, dedication, fitness, professionilism and most importantly the competitive edge.

Unlike many othe olympic contenders, rugby 7's is a guaranteed crowd puller. It is short, high paced and high adrenaline. Also almost anything can happen: in the recent London 7's Portugal beat Australia and England won the final after being 19-0 down at half time. It makes sense from both an economic and an entertainment standpoint!

Few other sports, reward good sportsmanship as rugby does, you dont see, members of a rugby team rolling on the floor pretending they are hurt when they brush another player like football. It brings togather age groups and friends like no other sport, plus the atmosphere is second to none, how many competative team sports still allow fans of opposing teams to sit next to each other? they do in rugby just another testiment to the attitiude it would bring to the olympic image.
