We want Rugby at the Olympic Games:

rugby is a fantastic sport enjoyed by thousands of people world wide. how can rugby not be an olympic sport while a small scale sport like handball is?

It is a global sport, and is a great example to young people of how sport should be played, with sportsmanship, in kenn but friendly competition.

THe tournament would be exciting and would build on the sucess of the 7s tournamants held around the world. The tounament could be held over 4 days. Rugby is expanding its appeal and representation would come from every continent

7's is an exciting and dynamic form of the game, that can be easily structured and offers more compatability than the 15 form of the game and if it were included in the Olympics would help spread the game further.

7's is greatly athletic and entertaining international sport - well suited to the Olympic set-up

Since then the IRB World 7's circuit has developed the game immeasurably to the extent where the traditional strong teams are regularly challenged and beat by the likes of Canada, USA, Kenya, Japan, Portugal, Georgia, and more. There is a broad appeal, a large number of potential entrant countries and the possibility for a couple of fantastic days of competition.
