Try or no Try - Rugby or no Rugby

Ouvaaa! Yes, the tryline has been crossed! But the Olympic Ref will have the final say - Try or No Try? In 2005 the answer was NO!
Rugby Sevens has impressed with skill, passion, fairness, flair and all its other inherent qualities and has sidestepped the rest of the field, tackled the other team sports contenders into touch and scored hugely, getting the nod of the International Olympic Committee jury for recommendation to be included into the Games that will be held in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
The official verdict is 'a recommendation' for inclusion into the Games only.
There is one final try line to cross this week. For both Rugby Sevens and Golf the ultimate test comes when the delegates of the IOC meet in Copenhagen in October and cast their vote on the 9th!
In 2005, when several sports were put forward to be included in the 2012 Olympics in London, it was Karate and also Rugby Sevens who had made the final round. Back then the vote was a definite NO! No to the inclusion of either sport - no to the inclusion of any new sport.
So this time around we have to make sure the IOC delegates know how much we all want rugby back at the Games.
We have to team up, scrum down and make it happen. We held the ball for some good phases of quality play, now it is time to finish and go ouva the Olympic tryline to seal the win.
Let's show them how many people really want rugby at the Games. Help us get more numbers on the olympic-rugby.org petition! Crouch, touch and pause - Engage!
