Bob Skinstad, the 50th Springbok captain, who was of course also part of the famous South African side that won the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France, signed the petition this week and fully backs the olympic-rugby.org initiative. Like so many Springbok stars, he also played Sevens for his country.

Bob is one of the one of the most recognisable faces in world rugby and we are well chuffed that he has started to spread the word for rugby's Olympic cause. What a legend!

"As you know, I really enjoy 7s rugby and was very happy our boys won the series!", he told us after South Africa claimed the Sevens World Series title for the first time last week in Edinburgh. "Seeing 7s at the Olympics would be the ultimate and this global stage is really where our game belongs." Bob said on his blog and we couldn't agree more.

"The olympic-rugby.org website shows you all the countries by activity and also all the supporters that have signed so far - you'll find me in the South Africa section - already there have been a thousand new signatures since I signed yesterday afternoon! Great to see it tick over and the rugby world getting behind it!"
