The olympic-rugby.org petition has exploded onto the scene and all of you have helped make it fly! Yes, this is only the beginning, but it has already attracted rugby stars from pretty much each and every top team out there, some of them even joined our outrageous Olympic Toga campaign (check it out here)and many more will follow!

As you know, we have the current 7s World Champions Wales on board, the South African Sevens team - who are the IRB Seven series winners are also there, as is one of their stars and IRB Sevens player of the year nominee Mpho Mbiyozo. (See all our friends here)

Bob Skinstad who was part of the Springbok World Cup Winners 2007 has been a legend for rugby's Olympic cause (watch the video) and now we have our latest top class buddy in Cheryl Soon, who captained the Australian Sevens team to World Championship glory in Dubai earlier this year.

For Cheryl there is absolutely no doubt that our sport belongs on the Olympic stage: "Rugby Sevens is a perfect fit for the Olympic Games it's fast, it's exciting, it's entertaining. It is played by the fittest, the fastest and the most skillful players!". The Wallaroo 7s captain who counts Christian Cullen and George Gregan among her best ever players said for her personally "Competing in the Olympics is the pinnacle. Winning an Olympic medal would be a dream come true!"

The gold medalist agrees that raising awareness and creating plenty of noise for rugby 7s and the Olympic bid will add lots of weight to the cause, which is why she 100% backs olympic-rugby.org

The Aussie scrumhalf was also part of the IRB's panel to present rugby at the International Olympic Committee meeting in Switzerland earlier this week.

"I felt the presentation went extremely well, the content and the new reaching out film was very powerful, the IOC members seemed very impressed with the presentation I guess we'll see in August but most importantly in October when the IOC make their final decision."

The other sports also presented their case (read here) so the board is set, the pieces are moving!
